Luscious is spearheading the organic revolution with the opening of two Luscious Organic stores in London. They are organic convenience stores with juice and coffee bars attached.
London’s first organic convenience store chain has opened its Flagship store on Kensington’s High Street bringing the UK and the capital the next step in the organic retailing revolution.
Luscious Organic is set to change the way people shop by offering everything you find at your local corner store in an organic form. Store number 1 is now open in Kensington High Street and store number 2 in Fulham Broadway and already the company is being approached by business people to take the concept overseas or to franchise.
"No longer will you have to trek to a big supermarket for your organic needs – we are just on the corner selling everything from organic toilet paper to tomatoes, ready meals to raisins, capers to carrots. We are Organically Convenient," said Co-Managing Director, Alison Rose.
"We want to be the Sainsbury Local of Organic by offering hip, up market well designed organic corner stores. The design makes the store fun to shop in we’re taking organic retailing to a new level – accessible organic food in a funky environment ‘just around the corner’. We want to be organically convenient," said Luscious Co-Managing Director, Tony Guy.
"We’re hip not hippie. Our stores will make organic accessible to everyone. There are no silly questions and if you want something in organic and we don’t have it we’ll find it for you. We’re not a supermarket but a corner store and we are part of the local community – this is the next step in High Street retailing," said Alison.
The latest research reveals the use of corner stores is growing by 7.7 percent and people use them 5 times a week while supermarket usage is up 4.8 percent. Separate Luscious research reveals locals in the area want to buy organic but don’t want to have to trek miles and want a range of products that say quality. "People want to buy organic because they want to know what they’re eating – wouldn’t you!"
"We plan to be your-up market, quality organic corner store. No longer will customers have to trek to large-scale organic supermarkets. Plus we offer a loyalty card scheme, the chance to qualify for preferred customer status, there will be deliveries and in store there are unique features like a basin for you to wash your veggies on site!" said Ms Rose.
Luscious has put together a team of experienced designers and retail experts. Included in the team are a group of young and talented retailers like Adam Wesnor from Australia and Catherine Lappin from South Africa who have been able to find suppliers willing to develop new products only for Luscious and organic suppliers as yet unrecognized by the market.
The stores are located at 240-242 Kensington High Street, London and 11 Fulham Broadway, Fulham, London.
